DON'T MISJUDGE
The collage (to the left) was made to mock the stereotypes that are directed at young urban males. This collage shows many
different types of males with subtle similarities and differences that represent how we are and how we are perceived. Unity
is displayed because it is evident that these characters share a common ground because if you don't take a good look they
all look the same. The hooded shirts, line-ups, afros, wave patterns, cornrows, etc. Same strong gaze in their eyes as they
walk over hallowed ground with their friends, families, and enemies all under them. These faces have cried to the point that
tears will no longer physically fall down their faces. This collage is basically a message to people who operate on stereotypes
because if you think we all look alike you should take a second look. The same things that unify these characters are the
same things that label them because we fall victim to the things that connect us on a daily basis. Many have been labeled
due to the way they look and dress when there is no telling if you are talking to a future success or a future failure, the
bank robber or the bank owner. So who is to say that young urbanites are not wearing the business suit of the future...
Don't misjudge.
